Little Dee feat Kano - I'ma Londoner

'Little Dee has constantly been putting out new videos and new music so you can't knock his workrate recently. The OGz crew member linked up with former N.A.S.T.Y crew member Kano for the track I'ma Londoner... Dumb Beats on production for this one.'
via Once Upon A Grime.

This is sick. Been on repeat for a solid hour.

Little D jumped on stage at the Skepta XOYO, London show that I was at last week and went over 'Slang Like This' during P Money's set.

Big things to come.

Example - Changed The Way You Kissed Me [Mensah Remix]

Ripped from MistaJam's radio show. Been looking forward to this.

Wouldn't really expect anything less than big.

This is an official remix that will be on the single release from Ministry/Data Records.

Mensah has previous with remixes, the evidence is below...

Eminem, Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf - Shady 2.0 [Mixtape] [Stream and Download]

'One of the hip-hop's power moves this year was certainly the acquisition of Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf onto Eminem's Shady Records imprint. The lyrical capabilities of this bunch is staggering and would make any emcee question think twice before dropping any diss lyrics. With that said, you can see what they're all about on their brand new posse mixtape'
via Hypetrak.

Wideboys feat. Sway and McLean – Shopaholic [Video] + [FuntCase Remix]

This was only getting posted because of Sway.

I could tell by the title this would be right up his alley and he smashed it, but I HAD to post this remix by FuntCase because it is just so filthy.

FuntCase is one of those artists who I've seen others rave about, but just haven't come across any of his tunes. I will be looking out for future material.

It's also great to hear Sway on a dubstep beat and I couldn't agree more with Zane Lowe in the rip below...

Shopaholic is out May 9th on new label World Wide Phonographics.

Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me

'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' is the first single from Example's incredible new album 'Playing In The Shadows' and premiered on BBC Radio 1 as Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record In The World' on 24th March 2011.'

BIG!

Adele & John Legend - Rolling in the Deep (Jamie xx Shuffle) [Digital Pirate Material Mash Up]

I posted this up onto Soundcloud last night and sent out a few links. After less than an 18 hours of this being uploaded the download limit on Soundcloud has been met, It's been played over 500 times, it's being shared over twitter and people from places like Latvia, Slovenia, Argentina and mostly the United States have been listening to it.

Did not quite expect that.

* Update: Whilst I was writing this post, the download limit was met.

Goldielocks - F*ckabout feat. Frisco

'Following up from the last release ‘Pterodactyl / Magic Carpet’, Goldielocks is back with her third release on her own independent label Gut Instinct.

Step into the studio and experience a day in the life of Goldie and Frisco. F*ckabout is a bass driven, bouncy track with a full commentary of studio chat – catching jokes, chronic and conversation.'

Goldielocks - F*ckabout Feat. Frisco

They been busy over at Gut Instinct this week.

On to the next one with Goldielocks featuring Boy Better Know's Frisco, which brings Goldie back to the vocals after a few instrumental releases.

I like the way that the label are going about their business and what there principals seem to be. If I were to run a label (I have foolishly thought about and looked into it) this would be the way I would look to do things.

I've always liked her beats. First one I heard was with Example (sorry can't find a link!), then with Tinchy and then Wasteman.

Looking back has given me the urge to post up my all time favourite Goldielocks tune, Wrapped produced by Semonthy Jones. Enjoy...

Kashmir Kid - Tear Gas / Hijack

'The follow up release to Kashmir Kid's debut on Gut Instinct Records 'Return To Bombay City' is Teargas / Hijack.

In keeping with the recent civil unrest across the world, Kashmir Kid sides with the people on the rebellious stomper that is 'Tear Gas'. 'Hijack' is a futuristic, sci-fi bubbler with dark undertones.

The soundtrack to a riot near you soon, this is the sound of rebel London.'

This release comes from Goldielock's own label Gut Instinct Records.

I'm liking Tear Gas, Kahmir Kid seems to have a talent for effortlessly mashing together genre's of music. If you like computer based electronic music then this is for you.

I love the press release/type up at the top of this post from the track's youtube description. A lot of bloated overblown crap gets written in these, but this one actually seems reasonable.

Looking forward to future Kashmir / Gut Instinct releases, especially after the first release from Kashmir Kid, 'Return to Bombay', which is still getting plays on my iPod nearly six months after release. Great tune.

Rusko - Everyday [Netsky Remix]

'Our fearless leader of dub-step, Rusko has unveiled his first official release since last summer’s floor-wobbling debut, O.M.G. Everyday is the pefect hands-in-the-air banger to start 2011's summer... The single package also includes a trio of Everyday remixes – a bubbling, funky garage rerub courtesy of DJ Q and speaker-melting drum n bass mixes from Original Sin and Belgian producer Netsky.' via Mad Decent.

Very excited about this release as I am a massive Rusko fan. Already looking for the album.

Was extremely frustrated when he had to pull his UK tour due to injury. The day it was announced I was going to buy tickets for the Fabric show. I'm sure I will catch a live set some when, hopefully this summer.

Below is the best possible rip you will find of the original 'Everyday' by Rusko...

DanSim - Thanks for the Grub

Here is a tune that was sent to me over Soundcloud.

I've been giving this tune quiet a few reloads, downloaded and thought I would post it up.

This is dirty, bass heavy, with big production. Exactly what I like. I love the kicks, there's a great build up and that first baseline drop is immense. Not overly complicated, but effective.

Hit the down arrow, under info, on the player to download.

Find more from DanSim on Soundcloud and Facebook.

Flux Pavilion - Bass Cannon

'Flux Pavilion's first release of 2011 and it's already been destroying raves across the world. With masses of DJ Support already you'll be able to buy this around April.'

Jack Beats - All Night feat John B

'All Night' is the new single from Jack Beats out on Cheap Thrills on the 24th April.
Visuals by Ben Loki , microchunk'

Wow, did not expect that DROP! Wasn't sure where it was going, but I like.

This one's released, on Herve's, Cheap Thrills.

The Skream remix of 'All Night' can be heard over on the Jack Beats Facebook Page.

Another Jack Beats production due for release is the remix to Skream's brilliant 'Where You Should Be'. Overly excited about hearing that one.

I am a massive Jack Beats fan. Not only due to there singles, but for their remixes. These guys have amazing production skills and are masters at creating house music with epic baselines. It's kind of like dubstep styled wobble baslines on 4x beats.

Not the greatest explanation I know. Some examples (original/remixes) below...

Jack Beats - Get Down [VIP]

Jack Beats - Out of Body

Lady Sovereign - I Got You Dancing [Jack Beats Remix]

La Roux - I'm Not Your Toy [Jack Beats Remix]

Project Bassline - Drop the Pressure [Jack Beats Remix]

Nero - Guilt

'Nero's brand new single "Guilt", from the forthcoming album "Welcome Reality" on MTA Records. Featured on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show as Hottest Record in The World'

Nero's label MTA have put out a radio rip of their new single 'Guilt', taken from Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show, with the rip ducking in and out of the broadcast & the track.

This is in the same vein as their previous single 'Innocence', which I much prefered to 'Me & You'.

Nero are all about baselines and synthesis. A great combination.

I'm expecting the album to do pretty well, Nero have had a lot of support from Radio 1 especially.

Kanye West - All of the Lights [Remix] feat Lil Wayne, Drake & Big Sean

'This song has been talked about for the past few days. Here is the rough version of the “All Of The Lights (Remix)” featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Big Sean... Look for the final, official version to come soon.' via karencivil.com

'Still to feature more people… namely Kanye West himself.' via Nah Right.

Yasmin - Finish Line [Mike Delinquent Project Remix]

'Yasmin's follow up single to 'On My Own' arrives in the shape of ethereal trip-hop infused anthem 'Finish Line', produced by man of the moment Labrinth.

Showcasing Yasmin's intensely moving vocals and knack for writing heartfelt, candid lyrics, the track has already had strong support from BBC 1Xtra and Radio 1 and been made hugely influential music blog Popjustice's Song Of The Day.

'Finish Line' will be released on 8th May 2011 on Ministry of Sound/Levels Recordings.'

Yasmin - Finish Line [Mike Delinquent Project Remix]

Mike Delinquent does it again!

After remixing Wretch 32's 'Traktor', with fantastic results, we now get great garage refix for Yasmin's 'Finish Line'.

Below is a video, taken from Soul Culture, where Yasmin tells of the origins of the track.

Ghostpoet feat Kano - Cash And Carry Me Home [Remix] [Video]

'Ghostpoet and Kano met for the first time at the Red Bull Studios in London and SoulCulture.TV was on hand to capture the studio session for these two lyrical heavyweights who have both received praise from the likes of Mike Skinner aka The Streets (who recently named Ghostpoet as one of his favourite lyricists) and Jay-Z (who named Kano as the most lyrical MC from the UK).

Kano stepped into the booth and laid down a verse for the remix of Ghostpoet's single "Cash And Carry Me Home" which was originally featured on his debut album Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam.'
via Soul Culture.

Been meaning to post this up since it was released by Soul Culture.

I listened to Ghostpoet's album after the praise giving to him by Mike Skinner. He reminds me of a cross between Roots Manuva and Kid Cudi. Heart felt music.

Calvin Harris - Awooga [Official Video]

'Calvin Harris just tweeted the video for his new track titled "Awooga". Considering it's an instrumental track I guess it's a fitting title. The song will be available on Beatport March 21st, so you can pick it up if you so desire... he just posted a follow up tweet saying that, "Awooga is the first track of many from me this year...some club tracks, some vocal, some me singing, some other people singing!"' via Some Kind of Awesome.

Before pressing play, don't expect this to be a radio friendly chart topper.

This one was made for Beatport.

Nice chords, build up and claps that literally sound like a crack to the skull.

I love when videos come out which consist of nothing but footage from their live shows. The best example of this is Rusko's 'Hold On'.

Jamie xx – BBC Radio 1Xtra Mix

'When Jamie XX transitioned from his take on Gil Scott-Heron‘s “New Here” into Ruff Sqwad‘s “XTC Instrumental” a minute into his mix on Mistajam’s BCC 1xtra show, we don’t think anyone was expecting or really prepared for the massive grime torrent he was rolling out. Phat, phat, phat instrumentals and vocal tracks from YGC, DaVinche, Wiley, Kano and Dizzee Rascal... So happy this exists, so sad it’s not up for download. Throw this on the iPod and we’d go lunch break treadmill crazy.' via The Fader.

Tracklisting:
Ruff Sqwad – XTC Instrumental
YGC – Countdown (Lewi White & Jammer Remix Instrumental)
Fire Camp – No
DaVinche – Phase
Ruff Sqwad – Don’t Trust Instrumental
DCoy – Johnny Was A Badboy (Feat. Wiley)
DJ Wonder – What Have You Done Instrumental (Feat. Kano)

Dizzee Rascal – Street Fighter Instrumental

Roll Deep – Shank Riddim (When I’m Ere)
Harmonimix – Big Boi
DaVinche – Misty Blue
Slix – No Bass (Feat. Jammer, Tinchy Stryder & Ghetto)

Ruff Sqwad – Tings In Boots Instrumental

This is sick.

Stick this on and get lost into the world of beats, baselines and grime. Yep, proper grime.

Lupe Fiasco - Lasers [Album Stream]

'It’s been four years since Lupe Fiasco’s startling second outing, The Cool, confirmed the Chicago rapper as an important new maverick figure in hip hop. Since then, wrangles over creative direction with his label Atlantic have delayed and derailed his plans for the follow-up.

The dispute between the forces of creativity and commerce are writ large across the finished product. "Things are getting out of control / Feels like I’m running out of soul" claims the opening track Letting Go, and yet the world-weary feel works well. Hip hop purists might baulk at the creamy melodies that dress up Lupe’s breathless diatribes, yet there’s something riveting about the undercurrent of confusion that envelopes this tune. Better still is Words I Never Said, taking scattershot aim at everything from Obama’s policy on Gaza to education budget cuts. It’s Lupe at his brilliant best – with ideas spewing forth at a rate which leaves your head spinning.' via BBC Music.

Yasmin - Finish Line [Video] + [Freemasons Remix]

'Produced by Labrinth, the song speaks of the demise of a relationship, and is a special track for the up and coming singer. The video shows Yasmin in a range of fly outfits (and a pointy bra) exchanging tormented looks with her curly-haired beau.' via Soul Culture.

I can see this video getting quite a bit of attention.

Not really suprised that it premiered on the Sun's website, eh?

On a serious note, I have very much liked this tune ever since the first radio rip ages back.

Her last tune 'On My Own', despite having all the right ingredients, didn't quite click with me. Although it certainly deserved to chart higher than 39.

Included in the single package is the very nice Freemasons remix, which features a massive FOUR AND A HALF MINUTE introduction.

Below is the radio edit of the remix, which completely cuts it out!
