The Streets - OMG [Video]

'... the prolific songwriter has been releasing song after song in anticipation, most recently premiering “OMG” on Zane Lowe’s popular show on BBC Radio 1. The song is indicative of the ongoing Facebook age, Skinner singing: “In a relationship, your status had changed….the words on the screen.” It’s assuredly the most radio friendly pop anthem he’s released thus far, housing a beat that starts slow, and is intensified during the chorus. Computers And Blues comes out February 7th; the end of an era comes on April 18th when the “OMG” single sees its official release.' via Pretty Much Amazing.

I had a little listen to the iTunes previews of the new Streets album and I instantly wanted to listen to this again and again.

If your familar with the Beat Stevie youtube channel then you would have already heard the track, although without the vocals. He has had this beat for years!

Great news that this is getting a release as a single.

Breakage feat. Jess Mills - Fighting Fire [Video] + [Foamo Remix]

'Breakage aka James Boyle is perhaps the most prodigious talent in the fast-moving world of British dance music. This track, featuring Jess Mills was quoted as Zane Lowe's 'hottest record in the World' on 21st December 2010. Further support from Annie Mac, Mista Jam, Benga, Caspa, Shy FX, Darkside + many more.' via Get Darker.

Didn't take to this when I first heard it, sounds different from the other tracks from Breakage that I love.

Baseline, beats and vocals. This is as addictive as it gets.

Released on Digital Soundboy Feb 27th and below is the remix by Foamo.

The Streets feat. Kano - UKG Odyssey

'made in the old way. from my cyberspace and reds mixtape, more lyrical pad work with kano on a bed of beats put together using all the original techniques once prevalent in our world. thanks again to magic for help on the buttons that for many will bring back memories of zed bias era breakstep. set to a series of images taken on my lomography film camera. these images form the background chiaroscuro vibes of my website.' via the-streets.co.uk

The Streets pre-album mixtape 'Cyberspace and Redz' is coming and here is the promised collaboration with Kano.

I'm thinking of turning this into a completely Streets blog for the whole month of Fabuary, to celebrate 'Computers and Blues' and the gig that I'm going to in Brixton. The idea would be to post a streets video for every day in Fabrary (maybe leading till the Brixton gig) with a few comments. No idea if I would have time to do this consistently, so is only an idea at present.

Kid Sister – Kiss Kiss Kiss [Mixtape] [Stream + Free Download]

'Fool’s Gold Records’ first lady Kid Sister finally unleashes her much anticipated mixtape Kiss, Kiss, Kiss. This following her titled track release of “Kiss Kiss Kiss” back in December when she joined forces with producer sensation Afrojack. The project meanwhile, was fully mixed by Nick Catchdubs and highlights 13 cuts stemming from, Gucci Mane, Carte Blanche, DJ Gant-Man, Caspa and Douster to name a few.' via Hypetrak.

Big fan of Kid Sister, sounds like something fresh from a female MC. Her and Rye Rye are great at jumping on these dance rhythms and B More beats. Thought her first album would catch on a bit than it did, I enjoyed it and thought of it highly.

Download the mixtape below.

Yasmin - On My Own [Royal-T Remix]

'She rose to prominence in the hip-hop and R&B world as a DJ, which led to studio sessions with producers like Labrinth and Future Cut, as well as Shy FX, who on this track helps create create a nostalgic trip-hop-influenced mood along with a current sound for Yasmin. Early radio support for this from Zane Lowe at Radio 1 and Mistajam at 1Xtra.'
via Record of the Week.

Great remix, top notch from Royal-T.

Mix of dubstep and dance with grimey baselines on top. Nice.

Kanye West & Jay-Z - H.A.M.

'Here is the brand new record many have been waiting for from Kanye West & Jay-Z titled, “H.A.M.” This following the announcement on January 2nd at the grand opening of Marquee nightclub when both parties made it aware that their collaborative album, Watch The Throne was in fact official. Devlin – Let It Go [Joker Remix]

'Everyone knows Joker loves Prince, but I've never heard him go this far before. 'This far' being the kind of wailing guitar lick porn stars play in their wet dreams, surrounded by the usual hi-vis synth colour and tolerant percussive ticks, and given beef and momentum by Devlin's tormented flow.' via RCRD LBL.

Arguably the best track from Devlin's 'Blood, Sweat and Beers' gets a remix from Joker, which will be released with the original on January 23rd through Island Records.

Skepta feat. Chipmunk - Big

'Skepta and Chipmunk talk about the ups and downs of fame on this monster of a collaboration from Skepta‘s forthcoming album Doin’ It Again.' via Soul Culture.

I really like Skepta. He is a top guy and I met him in a club a couple of years ago. He posed for about 4 photo's with me because of flash failures.

He is one of those MC's that have complete clarity in their flow and you end up getting everything that they are saying.

Skepta also makes it sound effortless.

New album 'Doin' It Again' is out 31st January.

Skream & Example - Shot Yourself In The Foot Again

'"Shot Yourself In The Foot" is just the right mount of dirty and will be added immediately to my party playlist. Featuring some nice Example vox... you would get up and dance to this one.' via Some Kind of Awesome.

This is great, Skream is one of my favourite producers. Expect the video to drop soon.

Below is the track that is currently blowing up my car speakers. Taken from the Freeizum Album, released on Christmas Day, 'Left The Room' featuring P Money. This completely bangs, the snare literally sounds like a punch in the face.

P Money is going to blow up 2011.

Ellie Goulding - Your Song [Blackmill Dubstep Remix]

Lovely.

Melodic dubstep at it's finest. Reminds me of Jakwob.

Check out his other remixes on his youtube channel, the Calvin Harris and Rihanna ones are pretty good.
