'If this is the final Streets album, then Mike Skinner is leaving as he came in: talking about getting stoned over homemade beats. Whether you think his calculated artlessness reinvented British urban music or just took the mickey a bit, Skinner has remained true to himself. Computers and Blues filters its poppy hooks through neat tricks, which when they work – as on Without Thinking – are hard to resist.' via the Guardian.
So this is it, the final album from The Streets.
Felt a bit apprehensive about listening to this album. Read a few duff reviews and was worried that it wouldn't live up to the hype or promotion that it has received.
I can't see this disappointing any Streets fans. The album is just typical Skinner.
From my first listen the stand out tracks, for me anyway, are Without Thinking, Blip on a Screen, Soldiers, We Can Never Be Friends, OMG and Trust Me.
