Vlsonn - Dischord & Cleanse EP

"Vlsonn joins IA Records in the midst of a metamorphosis towards a darker, more industrial outlook as we direct our output towards the London / Manchester warehouse crowd. Nestling at the heart of our very own industrial revolution, Vlsonn produces within the darker depths of broken, metallic and rave inspired bass music."

Next up for Immersed Audio (IA) Records see an EP release from Canadian Vlsonn.

On first listen it was the opener "2 4 5's" that instantly stood out to me. You can hear a real dark, dank industrial atmosphere to it and there's a great steel groove toughness that works well when the track is in full flow.

"Bison Run" is also worth a mention as one of the best pieces of the EP. The track is filled with some obscure but well placed vocal samples and there's a really nice subtle steel drum sound that reverberates throughout.

"Dischord & Cleanse EP" is available now exclusively through Bandcamp and will be fully released on 10th June by IA Records.

Llesca - Sharks EP

"The eighth release on Get Some Records, sees Lancaster teen Llesca make his debut with 'Sharks', set for release in June and accompanied by four unique remixes. The track itself is centered around a repeatedly chopped vocal stab, bouncing off-pitched claps in a frenzied intro and with the drop comes a distinctive sci-fi riff, heavily synthesised and given space in the mix for maximum impact. The elements combine and evolve throughout, shuffling above swollen bass notes in an up to date fusion of 140BPM grime and garage."

Get Some come up with another stellar release, this time from teenage newcomer Llesca and backed with a formidable amount of remixes.

'Shakes' is the sound of jump up Grime with snapping hand claps, vocal cuts that bring energy to the production and those large synth lines that are signature to the genre.

It begs to be played on a loud system.

As for the remixes, it's hard to pick a favourite with each giving the original a different spin. Pedro 123 manages to turn it into playful grime with huge stabs, Neana takes it more industrial, as does Elswhere who lays down heavy low-end kicks and Checan utlizes his signature baseline sounds to gear it towards the dance.

Released on 17th June by Get Some Records.

Conducta - Galaxy EP

The debut release from Bristol based producer Conducta, who delivers an EP that fuses the best parts of Grime, Garage and Dubstep together for four tracks full of energy.

Opener and title track 'Galaxy' sounds as if it's channelling fellow Bristolian Joker, laying down heavy with tron-styled synths and a deep running bassline.

'Galaxy' is an excellent introduction to what Conducta can produce and I would probably say it's the most accomplished track on the release, although it's certainly up there with 'Guava' which also has it's merits.

Listening to 'Guava' I can hear shades of both Royal-T and Swindle in the sweeping bassline wobbles and bright playful melodies.

Personal favourite 'Hold Tight (On Me)' and closer 'Oh Baby' do well in using old/vintage garage samples, irresistible UKG drum pattens and short stabbing basslines.

Galaxy EP is eeleased 2nd June on Digitally Disturbed Audio.

Recommended Listening: Hold Tight (On Me), Guava and Galaxy.

De$ignated - Valentine EP [Out Now]

"East London/Hampshire bods Rory Bowyer and Nima Bazrcar aka DE$IGNATED made their mark on our Nasty Rips compilation earlier this year with 3.13 minutes of lazer guided bass flashes, trappy riffs and grimey attitude in the shape of the explosive ‘Russian Roulette.’

For this, their solo debut on Shifting Peaks, Roulette is joined by the shimmering, leftfield alt-pop of ‘Valentine’, with sometime Crystal Fighter Kyiki supplying hooky vocals, as well as a bunch of remixes from various friends and fellow travellers – Applebottom, Kyogi, Kaveh and Carlin Ruse all rework Valentine into new and compelling shapes, from nu/retro/bassy – house, to atmospheric broken beats, and a few off road points in between."

The debut release from talented duo De$ignated.

This is a seriously good release, featuring two original tracks in 'Valentine' and the grimy explosion of 'Russian Roulette'.

Also included in the package are some great remixes from fellow up-and-comers Kyogi and Applebottom who do brilliantly in rejigging the title track.

Highly recommended.

Valentine EP is available to download now from Juno.
